Holiday House Design Show

Holiday House is Mission in Pink’s signature event.

Mission in Pink grants the funds raised at Holiday House exclusively to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® (BCRF).

About

Holiday House, founded in 2008 by interior designer and breast cancer survivor Iris Dankner, is an interior design showhouse that gives the public the opportunity to experience firsthand the talent of renowned interior designers as well as exquisite products from leading home brands.

Iris Dankner was inspired to combine her two passions — interior design and fundraising for breast cancer research — when she saw a lack of high profile interior design events in the New York City area benefitting this great cause. After its inception in 2008, Holiday House became the first designer show house in New York City to benefit a breast cancer organization, attracting talented designers from across the country to transform the historic Academy Mansion on Manhattan’s Upper East Side each fall. Following its success in New York, Holiday House created a summer expansion in the Hamptons and is now established as one of the premiere show houses in the country.

In 2017, Holiday House celebrated its tenth year of showhouses with the 10th annual Holiday House NYC at the Academy Mansion in NYC, the inaugural Holiday House London, and the launch of Holiday House: Ten Years of Decorating for a Cure, a beautiful coffee table book documenting Holiday House’s history from Pointed Leaf Press. Iris also celebrated twenty years as a survivor!

Other Events

Mission in Pink has hosted a variety of events dedicated to finding a cure and creating a community of support, inspiration and hope for all those impacted by breast cancer. Ethical leadership was at the core of each of the events: Power of Pink!, Tickled HOT Pink, and Tickled Pink Scavenger Hunt. Power of Pink (POP!), formerly Tickled Pink: Teens for the Cure, is a group of adolescent girls and their mothers who seek to bring support and awareness to other who share the journey of life after breast cancer diagnosis.

POP! empowers young women to become advocates for

themselves and for others in the fight against breast cancer. POP! has hosted multi-generational Zumba for the cause.

Tickled HOT Pink, the young adult branch of Mission in Pink, joins its predecessor POP! in the fight against cancer. Tickled HOT Pink has hosted two “hot pink” evenings of dancing, networking, and fundraising in 2012 and 2013 to kick off October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month and an event in February 2018 in support of Planned Parenthood.
